Limerick Student Raceday 2024

Big Boss Presents: “Live at the Big Boss Top” Music Festival – Cleeves Centre, Limerick (February 2nd-4th, 2024)

The February Bank Holiday Weekend 2024, Big Boss Presents proudly brought our very first music festival, “Live at the Big Boss Top,” to an exciting new location in Limerick at the iconic Cleeves Centre. The three-day event was held under a big top-style tent and featured renowned Irish and international acts, creating an unforgettable weekend of music, entertainment, and celebration.

Despite the ambitious timeline—announcing and finalising everything within four weeks—our team pulled together to deliver a festival experience like no other. We managed every aspect of the event, from production, security, and bar and food services to marketing, PR, and influencer engagement. Our promotion strategy included a focus on influencer marketing and widespread event promotion, ensuring a buzz leading up to and throughout the weekend.

Event Highlights:

  • Friday Night: The festival kicked off with the renowned Irish group The Tumbling Paddies, headlining a night of lively performances. They were supported by local Limerick favourites Shanksmare and The Rogues, bringing a fantastic blend of traditional and modern Irish music. The crowd was also treated to a special guest appearance by Seamie Garrihy, the charismatic Clare native who gained fame on the Late Late Toy Show, along with a performance by talented Irish dancers.

  • Saturday Night: The festival transitioned into an electrifying techno night, headlined by Scottish artist Daire. Dublin-based acts Mills and New Era set the tone for the evening, keeping the energy high with their cutting-edge beats, creating an unforgettable night of pulsating music.

  • Sunday Night: For the grand finale, we pulled out all the stops with a VIP influencer area for local social media stars. The night featured an eclectic mix of performances, with local DJ Richard Saunders kicking off the evening, followed by Riff Shop Music, a unique fusion of DJ, drums, and sax that kept the crowd dancing. The night culminated with the legendary Mark McCabe, performing his hit Maniac 2000 alongside rising star Mimi Lane.

The weekend was a huge success, with over-the-top performances, a buzzing atmosphere, and an event that Limerick won’t soon forget. The success of Live at the Big Boss Top has sparked exciting new opportunities for Big Boss Presents and Big Boss Hire, opening doors for future large-scale events in the region.
