Big Boss Presents: Delivering Ireland’s Largest Student Racing Festival

On April 10th, 2025, Big Boss Presents partnered once again with Limerick Racecourse to deliver the biggest student event in Ireland — the annual Limerick Student Raceday. With over 12,500 attendees, this year’s event pushed boundaries across entertainment, production, and student engagement.

Big Boss acted as the lead event manager and production partner, handling every aspect of planning and execution to ensure a safe, seamless and unforgettable experience for all.

Our role included:

  • Full Event Management & Site Control: Coordinating all logistics, suppliers, security, and scheduling across six entertainment zones and a full day of horse racing.

  • Entertainment & Artist Booking: Programming all musical entertainment, including headline acts like Marty Guilfoyle, John Gibbons, and Jen Payne, as well as multiple live acts across the site’s various zones.

  • Zone Design & Production: Developing unique branded areas such as the Big Boss Top (SPIN South West Party), Techno Suite, Black Rabbit Tent, Guinness Glass Marquee, and more — each with dedicated sound, lighting, and visual design.

  • Sponsorship Coordination: Managing relationships with key sponsors such as Canella Lane (Best Dressed Lady), Patrick Bourkes Menswear (Best Dressed Male), and Blaa Giveaways for live challenges, interviews, and competitions.

  • Venue Layout Planning: Designing the full event site to accommodate racing, stage setups, bars, food courts, rides, games areas, and photobooth activations.

  • On-the-Day Event Control: Overseeing timelines, managing all production and artist liaisons, troubleshooting, and ensuring the event remained on schedule and secure throughout.

Results:

  • 12,500+ attendees, with demand surpassing expectations.

  • 7 races, 6 music zones, and over 30+ entertainment and activity touchpoints.

  • A day full of sunshine, student style, and standout energy — quickly cementing this edition as the biggest and most successful Limerick Student Raceday to date.
