Limerick Student Raceday has long been a staple in the student social calendar, but since Big Boss Presents officially took the reins in 2024, we’ve elevated the event into one of Ireland’s largest and most talked-about student festivals—and 2025 proved just how far it’s come.

From Takeover to Transformation: 2024 Recap

In April 2024, Big Boss Presents coordinated every element of Limerick Student Raceday, bringing in over 9,000 students from across the country. We transformed Limerick Racecourse into an all-day student festival filled with racing, live music, carnival rides, and immersive experiences across multiple entertainment zones.

From The Big Boss Top, which featured top DJs and became the heart of the party, to creative collaborations with The Black Rabbit, and fully-managed AV, lighting, stage, and sound production across all areas of the venue—we delivered an event that set a new benchmark for student entertainment.

We also introduced new concepts like Big Boss TV, crowd-based content creation, and interactive media coverage, adding another layer to the experience and boosting post-event engagement.

Limerick Student Raceday 2025: Bigger, Bolder, Better

Fast forward to April 10th, 2025, and Limerick Student Raceday broke all previous records, and also saw the return of the Spin SW House Party. With over 12,500 students in attendance, expanded venue zones, new acts, and enhanced production, we’ve cemented this event as the premier student festival in Ireland.

What’s New in 2025?

• Expanded Entertainment: Spin South West hosted a full day of DJs including Marty Guilfoyle, John Gibbons, and Jen Payne in the upgraded Big Boss Top.
• The Black Rabbit Tent returned with local acts, creating a unique Limerick-centric atmosphere.
• Techno Suite, VIP Guinness Glass Marquee, UL DJ Soc stage, and more created a fully immersive, multi-genre musical experience.
• Best Dressed Competitions: Sponsored by Canella Lane and Patrick Bourke Menswear, drawing huge interest and engagement on social media.
• Blaa Giveaways brought high-energy interviews, competitions, and student challenges.
• Carnival Area with rides, games, food courts, and activations brought the fun to every corner of the venue.

Behind the scenes, our team once again delivered full-scale event management—from security, first aid, and artist liaison to sponsor acquisition, ticketing logistics, and on-the-day control.
